In The Bus
Into the crowded bus came a stout woman, dressed in many colors, who squeezed into the vacant seat. Then a childish voice broke the silence.
“mummy, it’s a lady!”
“hush, dear,” said his mother:”I know it is!”
The small boy looked puzzed, “But, mummy,” he shrilled,”You just said to daddy,” what ever’s this object coming in?”

一個身材矮胖,衣著鮮艷的婦女擠進了一輛公共汽車,占據(jù)了車上唯一的空位。一個充滿稚氣的聲音打破了車內的寂靜。
“媽媽,她是一位阿姨。”
“噓!小聲點兒,寶貝兒。”他的母親說:“這個我知道。”
這個小男孩看上去很迷惑。“但是,媽媽,‘他尖著嗓子說:”你剛才還在問爸爸,‘上來的是什么東西?’”
