A Parrot’s Answer
A boy goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot. There he sees a parrot with a red string tied to its left leg and a green string tied to its right leg.
He asked the owner the signficance of the strings.
“Well, this is a highly trained parrot. If you pull the red strings he speaks French: if you pull the green string he speaks german, “replies the shopkeeper.
“And what happens if I pull both the strings?” the curious shopper inquires.
“I fall off my perch, you fool!” sceeches the parrot.
鸚鵡的回答
一男孩來到一寵物店，要買一只鸚鵡。在那兒，他看到一只鸚鵡在腳上拴著一條紅色的帶子，右腳拴著一條綠色的帶子。
他問店主這兩條帶子是做什么的。
店主回答道：“啊，這是一只受過高級訓(xùn)練的鸚鵡。如果你拉紅色的帶子，它說法語；如果你拉綠色的帶子，它講德語。“
我同時拉兩條帶子，會怎樣呢？”好奇的顧客問道。
“我會從枝條上面掉下來，你這個傻瓜。”鸚鵡尖叫道。
A Tasty Meal
A tourist in Africa sent his mother on exotic bird for her birthday. When he got back to the States, he called her.“Hi，, Mom,” he said.” How’d you like the bird I gave you?”
“It was delicious.”
“Youate the bird!’ the guy sjroeked.” He was very expensive. He could talk!”
“Well, if he was so smart,” replied the mother,“Why didn’t he say something?”
一頓美餐
一位在旅行的旅客送給了他母親一只奇特動人的鳥作為生日禮物。他回到美國后，打電話問道：“媽媽，你好你喜歡我送你的那只鳥嗎？”
“太好吃了！”
“您把它吃了？！”小伙子驚叫了起來。“那只鳥可貴了，它還會說話呢。”“噢，如果它照你說的那么聰明的話，它為什么沒告訴我呀？”母親回答說。
