The Talking Tortoise
A lonely man goes to the pet shop to buy an animal for some company.
“I have the perfect pet for you,” sys the owner.” It’s an amazing tortoise; if will do almost everything- and it even falks.”
“I’lltake it, says the man.”
Loter on that evening, the man decides to put his pet’s skills to the test.
“ Tortoise, go down to the shop and buy me a paper!” he cries, placing the tortoise on the floor outside the living room.
A year later, the man is still wctching TV when he remembers the tortoise.
“Bloodly hell! That tortoise is so slow I’d best go and look for him. “ he steps put of his front door and to his surprise, nearly steps on his missing pet.
“You’re so bloody slow, you’re been gone for nearly a year. What’s my paper.”
To which the disgruntled tortoise replies, “ Well, if you’re going to be like that, I won’t go!”
會說話的烏龜
有個人感到孤獨，就去了他家英語培訓機構旁邊的寵物店買了一只動物解悶兒。寵物店的老板介紹說：“我這里有一只烏龜，不但什么事都會做，還會說話。”那人一聽就買下了這只烏龜。當天晚上，那人決定試驗一下究竟有什么特長。
“嘿，接著。”說著那人甩給烏龜一些錢，叫它去買張報紙，并把烏龜放到了起居室外。
一年以后，那人還是在同一地點看電視，突然想起了叫烏龜買報紙的事。他打開門出去看了看，不料差點兒一腳踩到門口趴著的一只的身上。他責怪道路：“你這個家伙也太慢了，叫你去買報紙你卻一年未歸。我的報紙呢？”
烏龜聽了很不高興。說：“你要總是這種態度，我干脆就不去了！”
