I was a general of ancient Carthage. I spent most of my life in battles against Rome. During my military life, I won numerous battles. However, I was finally defeated by Romans. But when I look back upon my heroic and bumpy life, I have no regret.

古古這次要去訪問的是一位將軍。這位將軍曾使羅馬聞風喪膽，卻在最后一場戰斗中功敗垂成。這位將軍就是迦太基名將漢尼拔。
Today Gugu is going to visit a general, who once scared the Romans to death, but there’s many a slip between the cup and the lip, and he failed in the last battle. This is the story of the famous Carthaginian general Hannibal.

G: Hi, general! I admire your military talents so much! Could you please tell some of your stories?
H: Sure! The most impressive battle for me was to seize a large supply depot at Cannae.
G: How did you do it? It was said that Roman troops at that time were very strong.
H: Haw-haw… I was such a genius. Nobody expected that my army could cross over the Alps to attack the Romans.
G: Brilliant!
H: However, all my life I had dreamt of conquering Rome, but I never did.
G: You mean the battle of Rome City? I remember you had defeated the main Roman forces, and turned it into an isolated city. Why didn't you go on to give them a last blow?
H: It was truly a fatal mistake. I have never stopped regretting it since then.
G: You were not to blame. It happens, you know. Sometimes you win, and othertimes you fail.
H: Actually it was not an accident. The Roman soldiers were united while my army couldn't get support from the rulers.
G: Nevertheless, you're still a true hero!

漢尼拔：我一生的夢想就是征服羅馬，最后卻失敗了。
古古：您是指羅馬城一站嗎？記得您當時已打敗了羅馬的主力軍，將它變成了一座孤城，為什么不給它最后致命一擊呢？
漢尼拔：所以說這是我一生中犯下的最嚴重的錯誤，真是讓人追悔莫及。
古古：別太自責了，將軍。勝敗乃兵家常事啊。
漢尼拔：其實也有客觀的原因。當時羅馬城士兵團結，我的軍隊卻得不到統治集團的支持了。
