Lesson
Trying to clear security at Kimpo International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, I kept setting off the metal detector. Even after I emptied my pockets, the alarm still buzzed. Finally, I remembered that my shoes had metal shanks. I pointed to my shoes, and agent metioned for me to take them off. I did so, and I walked successfully through the metal detector.
As I was putting my shoes on, I looked around. Everyone behind me inline had their shoes in their hand.
