8.  lap

A. mother often haolds her baby in her lap. You no longer sit on the lap of your mother now. But it is possible that you are frequently in the lap of forture, and that is very good, for that means you are aften lucky.

On the other hand, to live in the lap of luxury is not necessarily a good things. You are not likely to grow up into a tough person under such living conditons. Should that be the case, your future would be in the lap of the gods,for it would be unlikely that you would carve out a career for yourself.

膝上（大腿部分）

做媽媽的常常把嬰兒抱在膝上。你現(xiàn)在不再坐在母親的膝上了。不過你卻有可能in the lap of forrune.這呆是好事情，因?yàn)槟且馑际钦f，你時(shí)常好運(yùn)當(dāng)頭。

另一方面，to live in the lap of luxury（生活在奢華的環(huán)境里）卻不一不定期有好處。你處于這種生活條件下，不見得能成為一個(gè)堅(jiān)強(qiáng)的人。如果情況真的是這樣，你的前途就會(huì)in the lap of the gods（聽任命運(yùn)安排了），因?yàn)槟悴豢赡荜J出一番事業(yè)。
