出席今天論壇開(kāi)幕式的外國(guó)貴賓有：尼泊爾總統(tǒng)亞達(dá)夫，斯里蘭卡總統(tǒng)拉賈帕克薩，巴哈馬總理英格拉哈姆，芬蘭總理基維涅米，匈牙利總理歐爾班，萊索托王國(guó)首相莫西西利，東帝汶民主共和國(guó)總理夏納納·古斯芒，聯(lián)合國(guó)秘書長(zhǎng)潘基文，國(guó)際展覽局秘書長(zhǎng)洛塞泰斯。

Premier Wen, Distinguished ministers, Commissioners General, Excellencies,
Ladies and gentlemen,
The word has gone forth. Since May of this year, all around the world, people have been talking about a remarkable, even historic, event.
They have heard about dazzling new technologies … rich cultural celebrations … star performances by dancers, singers, actors … all enacted on the stage-set of these beautiful and splendid pavilions.
And so they have come … here to Shanghai … from all corners of the world.
They came to see with their own eyes … more than 70 million people from dozens of countries.
And they were not disappointed. To the contrary, they were awed … and inspired.
The Government of China, the City of Shanghai and the International Bureau of Expositions deserve the highest praise.
At this great world plaza, they brought nations together…
Celebrated global diversity…
Inspired the world with feats of architectural design … rich intellectual exhibitions … and a rich multi-cultural mosaic of visitors.
With this Expo, Shanghai has secured its reputation as one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities.
Along the way, it has completed a transformation many years in the making.
Let us remember: this is the first World Expo organized by a city in a developing country.
And let us credit our hosts for their inventive, futurist theme -- Better City, Better Life.
This theme could hardly be more timely.
After all, we live in an increasingly urban century.
Today, more than half of the world’s people live in cities. That percentage will continue to grow.
Thanks to this Expo, millions of people learned about possibilities for making our cities healthier and safer -- cities that better integrate nature and technology… cities that offer their citizens cleaner air and water, and better lives all around.
In other words, this Expo offers hope … hope for tackling the growing challenges of our age of urbanization.

Ladies and gentlemen,
We all know that cities, today, are under enormous pressure.
More and more people are moving into the world’s cities. As they grow ever larger, cities are less and less able to cope.
Billions of people live in life-threatening conditions, trapped in slums from which they cannot hope to escape, lacking basic amenities from fresh water and sanitation to basic shelter.
Cities are also a major source of greenhouse gas emissions.
And those on the coasts face the risk of rising sea levels associated with climate change.
Still, cities remain powerful draws.
They are centers for jobs and economic opportunity. They drive commerce and innovation. People flock to them in hopes of finding a better life.
The Shanghai Expo has given us invaluable ideas for tackling these challenges.
We have seen innovations in construction and new uses of natural resources.
We have been reminded of what architects and builders can do to cut energy and water use.
We more fully appreciate the importance of mass transit systems.
And we understand that special attention must be given to the unique problems of the world’s slums.
In all this, I hope that China will be an urban pioneer.
Already, China is a frontrunner in addressing the urban slum challenge and in embracing green technologies, renewable energy sources and green business models.
I look forward to working more closely with China across the sustainable development agenda.
Let us work together towards wiser use of our planet’s finite natural resources.
Let us introduce sustainable practices at all stages of production, consumption and trade, from policy-making to the daily operations of small and large businesses.
Let us do more to develop renewable sources of energy, and make them affordable to all people.
And let us work together to combat climate change, encouraging our cities and towns to vigorously implement mitigation and adaptation measures.
These are the core tenets of the “green economy”.
And all are essential for achieving truly sustainable development – development that incorporates social, economic and environmental goals for cities and entire nations.
In 2012, world leaders will gather in Rio de Janeiro for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development -- Rio + 20.
There, we will renew political commitments and seek to identify gaps and address new challenges that have emerged since the Earth Summit two decades ago.
I have high hopes for this event, and I invite you to join us.
Let us use the lessons of the Shanghai Expo to reinvigorate the spirit of Rio.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
The Shanghai Expo will soon close … but it will not be forgotten.
As you prepare to return home, I hope you will keep spreading the word.
The Shanghai Expo – and our own United Nations pavilion – has sent a powerful message to the world.
That message is this: by sharing our knowledge, our cultures, and our desire for a better world, we are all enriched … and we can all succeed.
Let us keep the Shanghai vision alive in our discussions, our lifestyles and our work.

閣下、尊敬的各位國(guó)家元首、尊敬的各位部長(zhǎng)閣下、尊敬的國(guó)際展覽局秘書長(zhǎng)洛塞泰斯先生、上海世博會(huì)中國(guó)政府總代表華君鐸大使，各位嘉賓，女士們、先生們：
自從5月份以來(lái)全世界的人們都在談?wù)撝患浅Ｗ吭降臍v史盛事，所有這些都在美麗燦爛的展館里得到了展現(xiàn)，所以他們來(lái)了，來(lái)到了上海，他們從世界各地紛至沓來(lái)，他們親眼目睹了這一盛世。7000多萬(wàn)人次來(lái)自幾十個(gè)國(guó)家，他們并沒(méi)有失望，恰恰相反他們感到了驚嘆和振奮。
中國(guó)政府、上海市政府以及國(guó)際展覽局理應(yīng)得到這最高的贊譽(yù)。中國(guó)人民和政府已經(jīng)證明了，他們有能力來(lái)舉辦這樣一個(gè)重要的國(guó)際盛事。我在這里代表聯(lián)合國(guó)對(duì)你們表示最衷心的祝賀，祝賀你們舉行了這一次最成功的2010年中國(guó)上海世博會(huì)。
尊敬的女士們、先生們，在這樣一個(gè)巨大的世界廣場(chǎng)上，中國(guó)匯集了各國(guó)在一起，我們共同慶祝和展現(xiàn)了全球的多姿多彩，建筑設(shè)計(jì)的饕餮盛宴，豐富深刻的展覽，以及濃郁的多元文化，如此的大融合讓世界為之歡騰。
在這次世博會(huì)上，上海蜚聲海內(nèi)外，一路走來(lái)，上海已經(jīng)完成了孕育多年的轉(zhuǎn)型。讓我們記住這是世界博覽會(huì)首次在發(fā)展中國(guó)家舉行。
我們也要盛贊我們的東道主提出了獨(dú)具創(chuàng)新且昭示未來(lái)的主題，即“城市，讓生活更美好”。這個(gè)主題再合適不過(guò)了。畢竟我們現(xiàn)在生活在一個(gè)城市化不斷發(fā)展的世界里，現(xiàn)在超過(guò)半數(shù)以上的世界人口生活在城市里，而這個(gè)比例將會(huì)繼續(xù)的提高。
正是因?yàn)楸緦檬啦⿻?huì)，數(shù)以千萬(wàn)的人民知道，城市是有可能變得更加健康、更加安全的，城市能夠更好地把自然和技術(shù)融合在一起。城市里的居民可以獲得更加清潔的空氣和水，享受更加美好的生活。換句話說(shuō)，這屆世博會(huì)給我們帶來(lái)了希望，我們有信心能應(yīng)對(duì)城市化時(shí)代日益涌現(xiàn)的挑戰(zhàn)。
尊敬的各位閣下，女士們、先生們，我們都知道如今的城市面臨著巨大的壓力，越來(lái)越多的人們現(xiàn)在移居到世界各地的城市里，隨著他們的人數(shù)不斷的增加，城市容納他們的難度越來(lái)越高，數(shù)十億的人們生活條件惡劣，危及生存。他們生活在貧民窟里，無(wú)法獲得基本的生活條件，沒(méi)有清潔的水，沒(méi)有衛(wèi)生設(shè)施，也沒(méi)有基本的住所。城市也是溫室氣體排放的主要來(lái)源之一，而那些沿海的城市也在面臨著氣候變化所帶來(lái)的海平面上升的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)。
盡管如此，城市吸引力不減。城市是就業(yè)的中心，也是經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的中心，他們推動(dòng)著商業(yè)活動(dòng)和創(chuàng)新的發(fā)展，人們涌入城市，希望找到更加美好的生活。中國(guó)2010年上海世博會(huì)向我們展示了寶貴的理念，幫助我們應(yīng)對(duì)這些挑戰(zhàn)。我們看到了建筑方面的創(chuàng)新設(shè)計(jì)，我們也看到了自然資源的創(chuàng)新使用。我們通過(guò)世博會(huì)了解到建筑的設(shè)計(jì)師和建造者能夠?yàn)楣?jié)能節(jié)水做些事情。
我們也充分意識(shí)到公共軌道交通系統(tǒng)的重要性，我們充分理解必須要特別關(guān)注貧民窟這一特別的世界問(wèn)題。在這些方面上，我希望中國(guó)能夠成為一個(gè)探索城市發(fā)展的先行者。事實(shí)上，在解決城市貧民窟的挑戰(zhàn)的問(wèn)題上，在利用推廣綠色技術(shù)、可再生能源以及綠色業(yè)務(wù)模式發(fā)展方面，中國(guó)已經(jīng)走在了最前沿。我們期待著更密切的、更廣泛的在可持續(xù)發(fā)展方面和中國(guó)合作，我們要共同努力，更加有效地、明智地利用我們星球上的自然資源，我們要繼續(xù)宣傳可持續(xù)的發(fā)展方式，貫穿于消費(fèi)、貿(mào)易的各個(gè)環(huán)節(jié)。從政策制定和中小、大型企業(yè)的運(yùn)營(yíng)方面全面踐行。
我們要更加努力開(kāi)發(fā)可再生的能源，使得所有的人能用得起。我們要共同努力來(lái)應(yīng)對(duì)氣候變化，鼓勵(lì)城鎮(zhèn)大力推行減緩和適應(yīng)的措施。而這些，是綠色經(jīng)濟(jì)的核心精髓。這些都是必不可少的，只有這樣才能夠真正的實(shí)現(xiàn)可持續(xù)性的發(fā)展。這樣的發(fā)展也將全世界的城市和國(guó)家的社會(huì)、經(jīng)濟(jì)、環(huán)境的目標(biāo)綜合在了一起。
