Why not 后面可以跟不帶to 的不定式，用來提出建議，有時也可以采用Why don’t you…?

為什么不把你心目中的顏色告訴我們呢？
Why not (don’t you )ship the goods in two lost?
為何不分兩批裝運貨物呢？
如果why 后面沒有not 而接不帶to 的不定式，則表示“某一動作”是不必要的或無意義的。
Why open the letter of credit in September? You won’t be ready by November, will you ?
為什么９月份就開信用證呢？你們的貨１１月份還來不及備妥，是嗎？
