used to + 動詞不定式表示在過去的某個時間段的習慣性動作或狀況，而且還用來強調這個習慣性動作或狀況現在已經不再進行或者存在了的這個事實。
主語+used to + 動詞原形……
否定句
didn’t used
主語 + [ used not to ] + 動詞原形……
never used to
否定句可以用以下的三種方法來表示：
① I didn’t use to watch television as a child
② I used not to watch television as a child
⑶ I never used to watch television as a child.
①是最經常使用的形式。
②是作為書面語最一般的形式，但是在口語中并不常用。
⑶是在書面語和口語中都很常用的表達。這個形式的語序和句基本相同（主語和used to 之間只加副詞），所以可能是最簡單的。
當然我們也可以在句子里加入除了never以外的表示頻度的其他副詞來構成一個肯定句。

●詢問的部分中句子的主語的時候，就會變成下面的形式：
疑問詞（句）+ used to + 動詞原形……？
Who used to live in this house? 誰過去常常住在這棟房子里？
Which brother used to visit you? 哪個兄弟過去常常來看你？
How many people used to sleep in each room/每個房間過去常常有多少人睡？
What sort of animals used to inhabit this area? 哪種動物曾棲居于此？
What used to happen at night? 過去夜里常常發生什么？
