SUNDAY MORNING 周日上午
今Jenny在鄉下享受著周末。星期日早上,jenny好像被小鳥的叫聲叫醒了。
(敲Jenny臥室門的聲音)
Jenny Come in!
(Susan 進了房間)
Jenny Good morning, Susan.
Susan Good morning, jenny. I’ve brought you an early morning cup of tea!
Jenny Tank you.
Susan Oh, I forgot to ask you. Do you drink tea or, as an American, do you prefer coffee?
Jenny No, tea is fine, thanks.
Susan Oh, good. Did you sleep well?
Jenny Yes, thank you. I slept better than I’ve slept for a long time.
Susan People usually sleep well here. It must be the country air.
Jenny Yes, but the birds woke me up a bit early.
Susan They are noisy today.
Jenny What sorts of birds do you get?
Susan All sorts, really. But the pigeons seem to sing more loudly than the rest.
Jenny I thought I heard an owl last night.
Susan Yes, we get a lot of owls. Well. I’ll let you drink your tea. Would you like breakfast in half an hour?
Jenny Yes, that would be fine, thank you.
Susan A full English farm breakfast?
Jenny Great! I can’t wait.
Susan Right, I’ll go and collect some eggs.
(早飯的時候)
Jenny That was delicious: the best breakfast that I have ever eaten!
Susan Good It’s nice to cook for someone who enjoys eating. Come on, peter. Eat up!
Peter I’m trying to eat as fast as I can.
Susan (面向Jenny) He eats more slowly than any man I know.
Peter There’s nothing wrong with eating slowly! It’s not good for you to eat quickly.
Susan What are you two going to do today?
Peter I can’t decide whether to drive jenny to Oxford or walk to the village.
Susan What would you prefer to do, jenny?
Jenny I don’t mind what we do.
Susan Well, if you get ready quickly, you can do both.
Peter OK, let’s go.
