      1. skin
      Human beings have skin. So have animnals and plants. The skin can be thick or thin. This can be used figuratively to describe people’s personality.
      A thin-skinned person, or a person who has a thin skin, is easily upsel or offended while a thick-skinned person, or a person who has a thick skin, is quite the contrary. Both expressions are sometimes derogatory. That is to say, sometimes the for mer refers to a person who is too sensitive; the lattter a person who has little sense of shame.

      我有皮,動植物皮。皮有厚有薄,可以用來比喻人的性格。
      A thin-skinned person,亦即臉皮薄的人,容易受挫或受損,而A thick-skinned person,蠻即厚臉皮的人,正好相反。有時兩個習語都是貶義語,也就是說,有時前者批過于敏感的人,后者指不知羞恥的人。
      2muscle
      Muscles are closely related to strength. Most boys want to be muscular. Then they must ecxercise their muscles byu going in for sports regularly. If they keep at it, they will grow up into men of muscles.
      In prepartion for physical ezercise, othletes usually warm up by flexing their muscles. When you tell a person not to move a muscle, you are ordering him to keep still. I f you want him to try harder, you may say,” Put some muscle into your work.”

      Most people will only think of the hair on our head when the word hair is mentioned in fact, some animals and planst also have hair.
      A horrible scene may make a person’s hair stand on end. But a courageous person will not turn a hair even though he is in face of danger.
      Sometimes, a frend of your may be so angry that he may act foolishly. Then you had better give him this advice:” Ke4ep your hair on!”

      “A short fat officer made his appearance, fingering his moustache. “ Isn’t this a funny image/ Some men wear moustaches. Thsy think, perhaps, they look more maturem with them. Others may not think so. They may think it is a bother to take care of a moustache.

      男孩了到了十六歲左右,一抹淡淡的小胡子就開始在上唇上長出來。這是他快要長成大人的最初標志之一。
      一個又矮又胖的軍官,捻著小胡子出現(xiàn),這不是一個滑稽的形象嗎?有些男人愛留小胡子,也許他們認為,這樣顯得自己更成熟。另外一些人可不這樣想。他們可能覺得,照料胡子是件麻煩的事。

      Can you tell a beard from a moustache? A moustache grows on the upper lip while a beard grows on the cheeks and chin.
      A man who wears a very thick beard may not speak clearly, as the thick beard may muffle the sound. So it is easy to get at the meaning of this sentence:The man spoke ion his beard. “Have you got it?
      Perhaps the phrase laugh at somebody’s leard is new to you. Dose it mean that his beard looks very funny/ By no means. It is another way of saying “laugh in his face.”
