在我們學(xué)校進(jìn)行英語培訓(xùn)的Tim今天問果果老師“give or take”是什么意思。give or take的意思是相差，表示某個(gè)數(shù)值有點(diǎn)小誤差，但這誤差是在允許范圍之內(nèi)，常用于一個(gè)數(shù)字或數(shù)量之前或之后。

    例句：
    In the end the cost was 1500 dollars, give or take a dollar or two.
    最后，這些費(fèi)用是1500美元，至少相差一兩美元。
    Whichever route we take ,the distance will be the same , give or take a few kilometres.
    無論我們走哪條路，路程都一樣，頂多相差幾公里。

    情景模擬：
    You need very accurate equipment to measure the time in athletics.
    The times of the runners in a short-distance race can be almost the same , give or take a few fractions of a second .
    But those few fractions of a second make the difference between winning and losing…
    between taking home the gold ,the silver or the bronze medal.

    At the audition everyone said she sang and danced beautifully .
    But the teacher in charge of the production gave the part of Dorothy to another girl. She said that Alice could be a Munchkin.
    Alice doesn't want to be a Munchkin. She is so upset that she has decided to give up acting for good.
