LESSON TWO IN THE HOTEL
Zhang: This is your room. How do you find it?
Smith: Oh, what a lovely room! Faces south, if I’m not mistaken.
Zhang: Yes, it does. You can get a fine view of the city if you look out of the window. And here is the bathroom. The bell is on the bedside table. Just ring whenever you want anything..
Smith: You’re very considerate, Mr. Zhang.
Zhang: It’s a pleasure to be of help. I hope you will enjoy your stay in Nanjing.
Smith: I’m sure I will. As a matter of fact, I’ve been looking forward to this trip for quite some time.
Zhang: We’ve arranged one afternoon in the time schedule to show you around the city. Nanjing is a famous city with a long history. There are many places of historic interest and scenic beauty, such as the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Confucian Temple.
Smith: Great! By the way, where can I get a city map?
Zhang: You can get it at the service counter downstairs.
Smith: Can I also change money there?
Zhang: Yes.
Smith: I see. Thank you once again for everything you’ve done.
Zhang: Mr. Smith, if there is nothing else, I think I must leave you now.
