英文俚語——Sunday driver
Sunday 在英語中是“周日，星期天”的意思。那么“Sunday driver”的字面意思是“周末駕駛員”。通常情況下，星期天是不上班的，可以慢慢開車。所以在俚語中，把“Sunday driver”的意思引申為“駕駛生手”。例如：I wish I could get around this guy in front of me; he is going too slow and must be a Sunday driver.（我真希望我能超過前面那輛車，那人得太慢了，肯定是個生手。）
到了一個陌生的城市，你未必熟悉哪里的地鐵系統，如果有工作人員，可以問問：How much is the fare?（車費多少？）以及：What should I do with the token?（我該怎么用這個代幣呢？）
在一些城市，你可以投幣買卡，然后刷卡進站乘坐地鐵，但還有一些城市可以直接投幣進站。所以如果當別人告訴你：You put it in the slot at the turnstile and then push the turnstile to get into the platform.（您把它投入旋轉柵門的縫槽里，然后推動旋轉柵門就可以進入站臺了。）不要以為自己聽錯了。
如果你對進站的方式不是很清楚，請教了別人。這時候你又擔心出站也同樣麻煩，就可以說：By the way, how can I get out of the platform after I get off the train?（順便問一下，我下車后怎么出站呢？）
可能你會有這樣的疑問，Do I have to pay an additional fare to change trains?（換乘地鐵還要付費嗎？）那么你不需要擔心的，因為現在很多城市地鐵換乘時，是不需要再次買票的。
等待的時光總是有點難熬的，尤其是你趕時間的時候。與其東張西望盼著地鐵快點到來，還不如問問工作人員：How frequent is this subway service?（這班地鐵多長時間來一次？）
