慣用語——riding the gravy train
Riding the train 就是乘火車的意思，那么gravy在這里有事什么意思呢？Gravy這個詞的愿意是肉汁。但是在這個習慣用語里，gravy 就不是具體的肉湯了，而是指“在勞動所得或者是實際需要以外好有很多財富”。要是你ride the gravy train,那就是說你沒有花多大代價，或者根本就沒有付出勞動而得到很多錢財。例如：The whole family is still riding the gravy train they have more to spend than they'll ever need until the wells run dry.（一家人財源滾滾。在這些油井干枯之前，他們的錢怎么也花不完的。）
列車晚點了？很正常，列車經常會因為天氣或者其他原因造成晚點，所以你可能經常會聽到車站的廣播說：The train will be about 30 minutes behind time.（這班火車大約晚點30分鐘。）不過當你聽到Late time of the train was not sure yet. Please pay attention to the notice.的時候，很可能悲劇了，你得百無聊賴的等，卻不知道它什么時候來。
進站的時候，你必須知道這趟車在哪個站臺停靠，否則你是上不了車的。在檢票的時候，不妨順便問下conductor: By the way, which platform is for the No.1056 train?
即使你到車站的時間有點晚了，也不要太慌張了，安全第一嘛！所以告訴同伴：Perhaps we will make it.（可能還來得及。）也可以問問工作人員:How long does this train stay at the station?（這列火車在這站停留幾分鐘？）
在客流的fastigium, 你很有可能買不到有座的票，那么這注定是比較西褲的一趟旅程。為了減少一點旅途的辛苦，上車后你可以尋找暫時還沒有人坐的位子。Is this seat vacant?（這個座位有人坐嗎？）或者Can I sit here?（我可以坐這里嗎？）
