當認為對方是某人而又不敢貿然肯定時,可以采用這一提問方法;卮鹩谜Z為:

2. Allow me to introduce myself. 請允許我自我介紹一下。
與客人初次見面,可以先自我介紹姓名身份,以便交往。自我介紹還可以說:
Let me introduce myself.或者更簡單直接地說I’m Zhang Ying from the Textiles Corporation.
如果介紹他人時,則可以說:Allow me to introduce my manage to you.
請允許我將我們經理介紹給您。
Let me introduce you to my manager. 或者May I introduce you to my manager?
請允許我將您介紹給我們經理。I’d like you to meet my manager.
請您見見我們經理。I don’t think you two have met before.
我想你們沒見過面吧。
在介紹他人時,一般習慣是1介紹評價給客人,2介紹晚輩給長輩,3介紹男性給女性。
3. How do you do, Mr. Zhang? 您好,張先生。
How do you do? 是初次見面時的問候語,后面常常還可以接著說I’m glad/
Pleased/happy to meet you. 對方的回答也是How do you do?例如:
Paulo: Bill, this is my mother, Mrs. Gray. Mother, Bill O’ Neill.
Mrs. Gray: How do you do, Mr. O’Neill?
Bill: How do you do, Mrs. Gray? I’m pleased to meet you.
4. Let me help you with your luggage. 我來幫你提行李。
Help somebody with something. 在某方面幫助某人
He often helps me with my spoken English. 他經常在英語口語方面幫助我。
Could you help me with my notes, Wang? There are some parts of the report, which are not quite clear to me.

(1) 詢問對方旅途情況用語一般有:

通常回答為:
Yes, I enjoyed very much.

On the whole, it’s not too bad.
No, I’afraid not. It was really and I’m not a good sailor.(路上不太順利,海浪很大,我又不習慣海上航行。)
(2) on the whole大體上,總的看來
My opinion is on the whole the same as yours. 我的意見大體與你的相同。
On the whole, I like the very much. 總體上說,我很喜歡這次旅程。
6. And I think you must be very tired. 我想你肯定很疲倦了。
Must be 可以用來表示我們對某事確有把握的推測。
There’s the doorbell. It must be John.. 門鈴響了,肯定是約翰。
Many must have some trouble: she keeps crying. 瑪麗一定有什么事,她一直在哭。
7. Yes I am, rather. 是的,我確實蠻累的。
Rather在這里的意思相當于certainly(當然,確實如此),用于答話之中。
例如:
-Would you like a swim? 你愿意游泳嗎?
Rather. 那還用說。
-Will I come to see you? 我來看看你好嗎?
-Rather! It would give me much pleasure. 太好了(當然愿意), 這會使我很開心。
8. But I’ll be all right by tomorrow morning and ready for business. 不過明早我就會恢復過來,可以商談業務了。

9. We’d better start for the hotel. 我們(最好是)動身去旅館吧。
We’d better=We had better這是一種委婉表示應該去做某事的用語,后面接
不帶to 的動詞不定式,指現在或將來,但不指過去。
It’s getting late. We’d better start back now. 天色晚了,我們最好現在就回去吧。
You’d better hurry up if you want to catch the 7:30 train. It’s almost seven O’clock now.
你要是想趕7:30的火車,得快點走才行,F在都快七點了。

-No, we’d better not.. 不,還是不坐吧。
