DOING THE GARDENING 做園藝
Jacl, Paula, jenny 三個人在園藝用品店買了很多東西。現在大家要開始做園藝了。
Paula What does that do, Jenny?
Jenny It makes the flowers grow more quickly.
Paula Oh.
Jack Jenny, let me borrow your gloves for a moment, please.
Jenny Sure. Paula, can you do me a favour? Take these gloves to your father, please.
Paula: OK.
Jenny Thank you.
Paula What are you doing, Daddy?
Jack I’m planting grass seed, to make the lawn bigger.
Paula How long does it take to grow?
Jack It takes just a few weeks, but it takes years to make a good lawn.
Jenny Jack, let’s make an arch here.
Jack Do you think we have time to do that?
Jenny Why not?
Paula What do we have to do?
Jenny Well, if I bend this over, it should make an arch. Then, I’ll plant a rose bush here. And we’ll see if we can make the roses grow over the arch.
Paula That soumds great.
Jenny Oh, no. It’s fallen over.
Jack let em help you. Paula, would you get me my hammer and some nails from the shed, please?
Paula Sure.

Jack Oh, no! When thought about a nice Engliash garden, we forgot about the not- so-nice Engliash weather!
Jenny never mind. Let’s go in and have a nice English cup of tea!

2． let + 動詞不定式(不帶to)
My philosophy is‘live’ and let live.’. 我的人生哲學是“相互關愛”。
I must open this door. Please let go. 我必須打開這扇門。請松開手。
The woman let fly a torrent of abuse at him. 這個女人沖著他就是一頓謾罵。
第二種句子構成只限于幾個固定的慣用句型中。請不要使用這個句子結構來擅自編造新的表達方法。
