Bush孟的班上正在進行小組競賽，Bush孟也是活動的參加者之一。經過幾輪較量，Bush孟所在的小組已經遙遙領先。一個美國組員興奮地對Bush孟說：“We are sure to win. Our team holds all the cards.”Bush孟心想：“我們正比賽呢，又不是在玩牌，這跟我們持有所有的牌有什么關系啊？”于是Bush孟說道：“Man, nobody is playing cards!”美國組員們大笑起來，看來以后得多教教Bush孟俚語才行。

英語小解說
hold all the cards表示“處于最強大或最有利的位置”。在牌局中，如果有人握有全部好牌，則必贏無疑，因為他可以隨心所欲地控制牌勢。如果我們用hold all the cards來形容目前的局勢，那就表示我們已經勝券在握了。例如劇中阿美說：Our team holds all the cards.意思就是“我們組處于絕對優勢。”所以古奇就說：We will win very soon.意思是“我們馬上就要獲勝了。”
